good friday forever

S&E with our beautiful roomie, Leigh

Aaahhh.... weekend.... we meet again. Happy Good Friday folks! And what a good Friday it is indeed. But aren't they all? We hope this one is especially sweet this week, and that you have a very Happy Easter bunnies!

Annye's:

  1. I confess that I love Easter. Not only for religious reasons, even though you know—Jesus rising from the dead, that’s pretty legit. But for other reasons as well. It feels sort of like a rebirth. Spring is near and that means no more winter clothes, cold temps or grey days. I see lots of brights and sunshine in our future, friends.
  2. I confess that I have not cut my hair since. . . .November 27, 2012. Holy shit. I meant it when I said these bangs are out of control. {Just check out that untamed hair in the photo above.}
  3. I confess that this week marks one year at my current job. Where did the time go? I’m so thankful for where I am at in my career. Fully appreciate what I’ve got. Because what I’ve got is pretty darn good.
  4. I confess that I have a feeling spring and summer are going to be a whirlwind for this girl. My weekends in April are already packed with weekend getaways, fun activities and events to attend. May looks about the same. It’s going to be summer before I know it. And I'm alright with that.
  5. I confess that I’m totally hooked on Scandal. I haven’t watched anything else for the past week. Olivia Pope is basically who I want to be in my next life. Minus all the relationship dramz.
Jena's:
  1.             I’ve totally avoided blogging this week. Started multiple posts, but couldn’t seem to finish them. To be honest, friends, this week Got. Me. Down.
    2.     It’s amazing how a kiddo can remind you to smile, laugh, be silly and remember that whatever life is throwing at you, there is still fun to be had.
    3.     Though already five minutes late for work today, I may have spent another 10 minutes driving around campus trying to find a closer parking spot. Walking on campus in the rain? What if I melt?
    4.     Maybe it was my mood this week, but anyone on my news feed that popped up with an anti-gay post (I can proudly say there weren’t very many) were promptly de-friended.  What did Hannah say, “I can’t be with someone who’s not an ally to gays and women,” and sorry, I can’t be “friends” with you either. It’s not about religion; it’s about human rights. Get on board or get off my newsfeed.
    5.     Multiple times this week I’ve crawled into bed next to a pile of clothes, a box of Cheez-Its, a damp towel and my computer. Hey, I don’t like sleeping alone, okay?

ain't nobody

{via}

A list of what I don’t have time for these days . . .

Hair cuts. These bangs are out of control.
Unanswered emails.
Ex girlfriends.
Terrible drivers.
Any more cold weather. Spring, where you at?
Bare legs in 30 degrees.
Keeping up with any sort of television show that's not Scandal or college basketball related.
Delayed gratification.
Jagermeister.
Hangovers. {#1 sign that I must be getting older.}
Getting older.
Bad wine.
Blogging. Oops!

What's on your list?

wishing you a fabulous weekend!

Like Usher, these are my our confessions. . .

Annye's:
  1. I cannot function without caffeine. I thought I could make it today without my daily cup of coffee. It being Friday and all. Surely the pure excitement of the weekend at my fingertips would carry me through my day. Not likely. This girl needs a nonfat white mocha, stat.
  2. I have not had nail polish on my nails in over two weeks. Unheard of! It is driving me nuts. I don’t feel right without my nails painted. Must make time for that this weekend.
  3. I haven’t had my curling iron this week—been forced to rock the straight hair. My hair is probably thanking me for the reprieve from the heat damage. But I confess that I am so ready to get it back today. Praise!
  4. Clearly I’m obsessed with my beauty routine and when it is disrupted nothing is right in the world. #whitegirlproblems
  5. I confess that I completely and utterly failed my Lenten sacrifice of giving up texting. Don’t even bother asking how that’s going because, well, it isn’t. Maybe next year?

Jena's:

  1. I noticed I am a huge sucker for pet names for women. “Doll,” “baby girl,” “my love,” “little mama.” When I get called any of those, or hear another woman called one of these by her man – my heart swoons. Totally grossing myself out with this one but can’t seem to help it. It’s so sweet.
  2. Scored a copy of the Justin Timberlake CD from my boss. Totally made my Friday.  For anyone else who wants a huge fan of Suit + Tie the rest of it is everything you hoped for.
  3.  I read a funny quote by Tina Fey yesterday. Confidence is 10% hard work and 90% delusion. This is totally true. In fact, I’m practicing a counseling technique in my life that employs this notion that what you think can be more powerful than what actually is. It’s called acting “as if” – act “as if” you are the most confident woman in the room, or “as if” you are the smartest person in your class. Whatever it is for you that you want to change, act as if you have and see what happens.
  4. Speaking of delusions…I have been acting as though I’m not in graduate school this week. Haven’t opened a book all week long. I’ll blame it on Spring Break? Though it doesn’t technically start 'til Monday…
  5. Speaking of Annye’s goal of irresponsibility, I booked a flight to Chicago for the end of next week. Who cares by bank account is hurting due to Vegas or that I have a million projects to work on for school. I haven’t been home since April of last year. Time to see that bestie of mine and hug my mom and pop!
